Red River Grooming Co. started the way most things worth doing start — by paying attention to how things are made.

I spent years working in professional kitchens and later built a restaurant from the ground up in southern Germany — concept, menu, interior design, all of it. That experience taught me something I’ve carried with me ever since: simple ingredients, done right, beat complicated every time.

When I made my first batch of beef tallow soap, what stood out was the bar itself: hard, rich-lathering, and clean-rinsing. That sent me deeper into traditional soapmaking and led to the 90% beef-tallow formula Red River uses today.

Beef tallow has been used in soapmaking for generations. Its mix of oleic, palmitic and stearic fatty acids gives us the performance we want without overcomplicating the formula.
